Automatic Tube Suppression Systems for Electrical Fire Protection
Ghanshyam Fire & Safety supplies automatic tube suppression
systems for electrical panels, server racks, control cabinets,
switchgear, machinery enclosures and sensitive equipment in
.
A tube suppression system provides automatic fire detection and
extinguishing inside compact or enclosed equipment. Flexible
heat-sensitive tubing is installed close to electrical wires,
terminals, circuit boards and other potential ignition points.
When exposed to excessive heat or flame, the tube opens at the
hottest location and automatically activates the extinguishing system.
Tube-Based Fire Detection & Suppression Solutions
We provide compact suppression solutions that can be installed directly
inside electrical cabinets and equipment enclosures. The pressurized
detection tube provides continuous fire monitoring without requiring
electrical power or complicated moving detection components. Upon
activation, the system rapidly releases a suitable extinguishing agent
into the protected enclosure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about tube suppression systems,
heat-sensitive detection tubing, extinguishing agents, applications,
installation and maintenance.
A tube suppression system is a compact automatic
fire protection system that uses heat-sensitive
pressurized tubing to detect a fire. When the tube
is exposed to excessive heat, it opens and activates
the extinguishing-agent cylinder.
The flexible tube is routed close to wires,
terminals and electrical components. It remains
pressurized during normal operation. Heat from a
developing fire causes the tube to open at the
hottest point and activate the suppression system.
When the tube opens, the sudden loss of pressure
activates the cylinder valve. The extinguishing
agent is then released rapidly into the protected
cabinet or enclosure to suppress the fire before
it spreads.
Depending on the protected equipment and enclosure,
a tube suppression system may use carbon dioxide
or a suitable clean extinguishing agent. The agent
should be selected according to the fire risk and
equipment being protected.
Tube suppression systems can be installed inside
electrical panels, distribution boards, server
racks, control cabinets, switchgear enclosures,
communication racks, machinery cabinets and other
compact equipment spaces.
The basic tube detection and suppression mechanism
operates through heat and pressure changes and does
not require an external electrical power supply.
Optional alarms or monitoring outputs may require
an electrical connection.
The system is intended to provide early protection
from fires caused by electrical short circuits,
overheating, overloaded components, damaged wiring
and other heat-producing faults inside protected
cabinets and enclosures.
Yes. The detection tube, cylinder pressure,
valve assembly, connections and mounting
components should be checked periodically.
After activation, the cylinder must be refilled
and the discharged tube section must be replaced.
