Linear Pneumatic Fire Detection and Suppression System
Linear Pneumatic Fire Detection for Fast Automatic Suppression
Ghanshyam Fire & Safety supplies linear pneumatic fire
detection and suppression systems for electrical panels, server
racks, control cabinets, machinery, vehicles and critical
equipment in
.
A linear pneumatic fire detection system uses flexible,
heat-sensitive pressurized tubing routed throughout the protected
hazard area. The tube continuously monitors a wide area instead of
relying on a single fixed detection point. When exposed to excessive
heat or direct flame, the tube ruptures at the hottest location,
creating an immediate pressure drop that activates the connected
fire suppression system.
Pneumatic Detection & Suppression Solutions
We provide direct and indirect pneumatic suppression arrangements
for enclosed, semi-enclosed and equipment-based hazards. Depending
on the application, the extinguishing agent may discharge through
the ruptured detection tube or through a separate network of pipes
and nozzles. The system can use clean extinguishing agents, carbon
dioxide, dry powder, foam or another suitable agent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about linear pneumatic fire
detection tubing, automatic suppression, extinguishing agents,
system operation, installation and maintenance.
It is a fire detection system that uses
pressurized heat-sensitive tubing installed
throughout a protected hazard area. The tubing
detects elevated heat or direct flame anywhere
along its routed length and pneumatically
activates the connected suppression system.
The detection tube is pressurized and routed
close to potential fire-risk points. When exposed
to excessive heat or flame, the tube ruptures at
the hottest location. The resulting pressure loss
immediately triggers the suppression valve.
In a direct-discharge arrangement, the
heat-sensitive tube performs both detection
and extinguishing-agent delivery. When it
ruptures, the suppression agent discharges
through the opening directly towards the
hottest point.
In an indirect-discharge system, the pneumatic
tube detects the fire and activates the cylinder
valve. The extinguishing agent then travels
through separate fixed piping and strategically
positioned discharge nozzles.
Depending on the hazard and system design,
pneumatic suppression systems may use clean
extinguishing agents, carbon dioxide, dry powder,
foam, wet chemical or another suitable
fire-suppression medium.
The primary detection and activation mechanism
operates pneumatically and does not require an
external electrical power supply. Optional alarm,
monitoring, ventilation shutdown or equipment
isolation functions may require electrical
connections.
These systems can protect electrical cabinets,
server racks, control panels, battery storage
equipment, machinery enclosures, vehicles,
generators, industrial equipment and other
compact or high-risk areas.
Yes. An optional pressure switch can provide
output contacts for connection to fire alarm
panels, local audible and visual alarms,
ventilation shutdown circuits or electrical
equipment isolation controls.
Yes. The detection tubing, cylinder pressure,
valves, fittings, connections, nozzles and
optional signalling devices should be inspected
periodically. The system must be restored and
recharged after an activation.

hazard assessment, suppression-agent selection,
cylinder sizing, tube routing, nozzle placement,
installation, testing, commissioning and
scheduled maintenance support.
